Re: THE UK's FINEST PICTURE FRAMER ?

Amazing that this subject gets this much attention! :Slap: But I too was drawn into this....and with the wonders of Google maps, I had to take a look at this establishment.... heck, if I was driving down the road, I certainly would have pulled in to check out a fellow framer's establishment, especia...

Re: Facebook Timeline Pages are coming...

As many of you know who have personal and/or business FaceBook pages, the Timeline designs take affect at the end of the month. Facebook has some tutorials on how to make the transition. Some areas can be changed and manipulated, while others are fixed. Regardless the changes will take place even if...

Re: Does anyone still use a fax machine?

Three years ago whilst in the process of a house purchase deadline there was an imminent postal strike. The solicitors secretary faxed the reams of paperwork through, was I glad I had a fax machine... That's typically when the need arrises... Legal documents with signatures required. We still have ...

...a small business in a small town with loyal customers isnt going to gain particularly. that was my point I'm not so sure about that. Even in a small town, and a small business.... How many folks do we often run into and think that they should know about our business....but don't? How many are we...

Re: Keencut Futura??????!!

I'm kicking myself that when I bought my Ultimat Gold I got the 1200mm version instead of the 1500mm, I've subsequently turned down several well paid jobs because I couldn't produce a large enough mat. I guess I'll get a reasonable used price for my 1200mm Ultimat Gold, so I'm seeing the Futura as ...

Re: SPRING FAIR anyone ?

I went on Thursday as I wanted to speak with Lion and it was pretty quiet. Actually Wednesdays and Thursdays (the final two days of the Spring Fair) have always been the quieter of the five day event, even when the Art & Framing section comprised the majority of one full hall in the late 1990's...

Re: SPRING FAIR anyone ?

Today is the last day of the 2012 Spring Fair, although I have already departed. It was a fantastic three days and I enjoyed reconnecting with many friends in the industry and meeting new folks as well. Despite snow on the first day, the traffic in the aisles was steady and the FATG Seminars were we...

Adam, Don't feel guilty at all... I know that travel can go from extremes when it comes to road conditions in the UK.. Re: Stamp framing

No, No, No... Stamp hinges went out in the 1960's. Today, collectors use specialized stamp mounts made of mylar, typically black on the back and clear on the face. Cut to size, these fit each stamp perfectly and protect as well as present. Showgard is perhaps the most well known brand out there, and...

With my first Christmas out of way I’m finding things rather quiet. I was kept pretty busy all of December and as I only got going in Sep/Nov I was quite happy with the amount of custom I attracted. January is proving different.... Alan, Specifically to your situation and a new business - you will ...

Re: How to cut the rear overhang on moulding?

Vince, Although you might find a creative, partial situation, reality tells you that the Morsø was never really designed to cut these profile styles. You best solutions is not to stock in length mouldings of this design... or order them chopped from your supplier, or sub-contract these out to a fram...

Re: Air compressor advice needed

Johnny, In this weaker economy, there does exist a great deal of used framing equipment on the market. If you are in a position to add equipment it might be a good time to do so. Silent Air Compressors are pretty expensive when new, but if in good condition, can be picked up at 30-60% of their origi...

Re: Stock levels

Arqadia's current moulding stock status is now available to EstLite users. Mouldings that are low, or out of stock are flagged and, if available, the re-stock date is displayed. John, So this is beneficial regardless if you desire to order length or chop - correct? Is this a live link or daily link...
