An Open Mind?
Jim Miller on the Grumble is possible going to teach a class on this. I am very interested in learning more about these. I tend to think junk, but I want to learn. The finishes I have seen as of late look good, so what the heck.... This is a great subject... I think that Jim might be exploring this...

Great!
Thanks for the heads up, Mark W.
My brother-in-law, Andrew (Southport) picked me up a copy at the news agent this past week and will post it over to me. I don't think we have this magazine in the U.S.
I may not use this software right away....but at these pirces, who could resist.

Time for a Poll?
John Turner , As an educator who visits the UK and Europe frequently, I would love to see the percentages of techniques used for hanging, even within this small sampling on the UK Framer's Forum - Perhaps you might make this into a Poll? As you might be aware picture cord as UK and Irish framer's k...

Strange Expression....anyone every heard of this one?
A depression child, stationed in England during WWII, my father came home with an English War Bride. Not sure if this phrase came from the era, his experience being raised in Iowa farm country as a boy, his Military travels or just him in particular being somewhat rude... But whenever someone he kne...

Re: Good Web Sites - DIY or professional?
...The cost of the site? Assuming you start with a fairly standard PC and selection of software, you can add Microsoft Frontpage from Ebay for a few pounds, design the site yourself and host it with Freeola for free. The big advantage of this method is that you are not dependent on a web designer e...

Solid Machine
Keith,
The Valiani Mat Pro Pneumatic mat cutter uses the same cutting head and blade as the full range of CMC's. Solid engineering. This is a great step up for a shop that wants more from it's table top professional mat cutter, but is not quite ready for a full blown CMC.
Regards,
John

Spring Fair - Social gathering
I have to honestly admit, that it has been months since I've had time to visit this UK forum....just too busy. But as I head out the door tomorrow, flying off to the WCAF Show in Las Vegas, a thought came to mind..... How about a pint together during the last hour during one day at The Spring Fair? ...

Re: Reaching customers with electronic newsletters
...We find it great for referring people to view methods of framing or how things will look - we send a newsletter to customers quarterly to those we manage to gather an e-mail address from and past copies are held on site for reference purposes. Find it difficult to get e-mail addresses, after fir...

Nice Job!
Ross, You've done a good job as you probably already know. -- Your site is clean, simple and navigates well (logical) -- You're actually changing the Title and metatags for different pages! Surprisingly, even the big players miss this. -- Your use of description and keywords is good and compliments ...

Welcome Mark, Cute handle, btw. This Yank drops in on the UK forum from time to time, and always will put the kettle on if you journey this side of the pond. How many American homes do you know will have Typhoo ready and have a tea cosy ready to keep that Brown Betty warm? Look forward to see...

Welcome!
Hi Martin, Welcome to the forum. I visit the NEC most every year for the Spring Fair, and often journey up to visit my aunt who lives near Nantwich in Cheshire. Several times, I've driven south through Shropshire......what an absolutely gorgeous county! Do you have a shop? Storefront? Regards, John

You're ready for a CMC!
John The size of your business certainly warrants seriously examination of a CMC. But equally important, what the size of your business will grow to once you do own one! Regardless of the brand, I believe that you are ready! Seriously do examine the Valiani. Obviously Fletcher-Terry distributes thes...

Website
John, Glad to see that you are doing this....not having a website today, is like not having a sign on your building. It's that important! I just had a web order from a lady in Scotland. In our conversation she mentioned that she orders stitching designs from the U.S. all the time, and I mentioned yo...

Expanded Library!
Mark , I'll be the first to admit that most of us use CMC's to cut very standard things like rectangle openings, ovals, V-grooves, and multiple opening mats (mounts)....and that is not a bad thing :D CMC's really increase our efficiency on those items. As you mentioned, Valiani (Fletcher/Valiani in...

Visualization Software?
John, So it sounds like Pre-View will be EstLite's version of visualization software. Not to put you in a spot, but approximately when do you plan on releasing this software? Will you sell it as a "stand alone" product, or only with EstLite? Estimated pricing in the UK? At the moment, ther...
