How to frame a Rob Ryan paper cut/lasercut!!??
I've been give two Rob Ryan lasercuts to frame and am scratching my head a bit as to how to mount them due to there not being enough paper to use hinges and the hinges would be seen anyway. I've added a couple of pics incase anyone isnt familiar with rob ryans work (the blue one is the one thats loo...

mainline mouldings customer website
I'm sure mainline mouldings used to have a separate website that was for customers to look at - all the mouldings but without the pricing info. I can't seem to find it anywhere? Am I imagining it or was it a different suppliers?

Re: Framing a paperback
My phone doesn't want to upload the rotated pic for some reason. Oh well. It's on the side of the book anyway. Maybe a bit hard to see.
Also how visible is the mylar encapsulation? It looks good on your programme so I think I'll suggest it as the best method to my customer

Re: Framing a paperback
It doesn't help that it uploaded the wrong way round. Hopefully I've posted it the right way now. Just towards the edge there seems to be a strip of board/paper I think I only noticed it on a close inspection.
How difficult is the mylar method? I've not tried it as yet.

Framing a paperback
I've been asked to frame a paperback and wondered what's the best way to go about it. The customer actually wants me to replicate a job he's had done before (pictures included). Is encapsulating in mylar the way to go? I noticed in the side on photo there seems to be a piece of mount board on the si...

looking for an ornate wooden frame
I have a customer looking for a highly ornate carved wooden frame as in the picture attached. Think they have seen something similar on holiday and have set there hearts on it. Just wondering what others do when they get such an unusual request? I'm thinking it would be fairly impossible to source s...

Re: help with a HUGE frame.
Thanks for the help everyone! I think polycarbonate is the best option so far, good find! In terms of the frame I've not found anywhere yet that does moulding that size so I'm considering making my own frame by lap jointing a timber frame together and attatching batons to the back to create a rebate...

help with a HUGE frame.
I have been asked for a quote for a frame that is 150cm x 333xm (gulp). The main problem I'm finding is that I can't seem to find anywhere that sells acrylic glass that size? I've tried sheetplastics.co.uk but the biggest they seem to do is 204cm. Any advice anyone?? Other than that I'm thinking str...

Re: Advice on framing large poster
One potential problem I have just thought about would be getting rid of dust specks from the inside the frame, must be a nightmare on something that size?? I use the static wisk brush from Lionpic on glass but would there be a risk of scratching acrylic with it? Cans of compressed air maybe?

Re: Advice on framing large poster
Wowsers, 1k a frame. I very much doubt the customer is going to want to pay that. I'm starting to think it might be something I don't want to touch. Its a lot of money, but I think I'd prefer to build my reputation on doing smaller things to a high standard than more specialised big frames and risk ...

Advice on framing large poster
I had an enquiry today regarding framing large movie poster, approx 40 x 75 inches. I haven't framed anything that large before so my first thought is to come here for advice! I've had a look at some other posts on the forum and it seems like an area fraught with difficulties so part of me is hesita...
