Re: Compressor issues - advice please

Thanks Prospero, i'll find someone to take a look at it. I did scout around Lancaster (where i live) when i first got it for a service but without luck, i'll have to look further afield.

Can anyone here suggest someone who might service it in the north west?

Compressor issues - advice please

Hello all, apologies for bombarding this 'help' section of the forum but i am having a bit of a tricky week. I have recently set up my own framing business after working for someone else for ten years and purchased most of my stuff second-hand. This included a Cassese CS89 underpinner (the model i h...

Framing a plate - advice please

Hello all I have had a customer bring in a plate that they want framing and this is something i have never framed before so i would appreciate any advice you may have to offer. The plate in question is approximately 10" across and is not circular, sort of halfway between a circle and a square. ...

Re: Photo albums - supplier

Thanks for the links. Unfortunately as you guessed at Kwik i am looking for something at the cheaper end of the scale. I work in a market and am really just looking for albums I could sell for £15 and under. I appreciate they may be a bit cheap and tacky at that price but the town i'm based in isn't...

How long have you been a framer?

Just being nosy really, wondering how long people have been working as a picture-framer? Did you start early or come to it later in life? How did you come across the job? I started as a saturday job in June 2003 when i was 15, went full-time not long after that and worked for the same company until ...

Posting frames

I have a new customer who is looking into expanding their business by offering a postage option. The frames would be up to 20" x 16" in a variety of mouldings.

How do any of you package and post your frames out to avoid breakages and for a reasonable cost?

Thanks. TC

Re: Wanted Mountboard storage unit

Build one/have someone build one for you.

Mine was built for me by my dad (he's a joiner) and it's excellent, really sturdy and as it was made for me it fits perfectly in the space i needed it to. Cost about £50 for the materials.

Re: Massive Print Sale Clearance - Everything £1.00!!

I went down yesterday, couldn't believe the amount of stock they had. If you can get there it really is worth making the trip. Sidney the guy in charge, top bloke. Very relaxed atmosphere, they just leave you to get on with it. I bought 250 prints because that's all i could afford. Take some boxes o...

Re: Massive Print Sale Clearance - Everything £1.00!!

There are (or were) two separate threads about this. The other came after this one and the company stated that as many people are too far away to visit and pick their own prints they were willing to send out bundles of either 100 or 250 prints at £1 per print plus postage. I paid £100 for my 100 pri...

Re: Massive Print Sale Clearance - Everything £1.00!!

How were yours packaged DCS? I bought 100 last week, great value for the prints and speedy delivery at £20. Alas! Very poorly packaged, all of them were just laid in between two large bits of cardboard which were taped together. The cardboard was also silver on the inside, looked like someone had be...

Bevelled Mirrors in Manchester?

Approx two years ago a former colleague purchased a quantity of bevelled mirrors from a wholesaler in manchester for a very reasonable price. I can't remember specific prices but i think a 36" x 24" bev mirror was around £5. Does anyone know who or where this company might be? Or does anyo...
