I have thirsty pockets from 'Home bargains' with 'Nilglass' sprayed on.
I then mop up the liquid residue with a dry piece of the kitchen roll.
Finally, a wipe over with a Microfibre cleaning cloth.

Re: Blade sharpening.
Thanks for the replies, I feel confident to use the Radius service now if I don't fancy a drive up the M6 and then the Aston Expressway! :sweating: Not the most driver friendly roads in the midlands. (Not really shocked but what my eyes look like during the drive there.) If anyone else...

Blade sharpening.
Has anyone used any of the two Morso blade sharpening services advertised on ebay? They are items numbers, 190788588304 and 400486876605. The 50 mile round trip to Brum could work out a bit expensive without needing to pick anything else up. Just thought I would explore other options and see what th...

Re: Morso Body, steel or cast iron?
Just to give a heads up on the repair job, in case anyone else has similar problems. I bought some 2mm thick mild steel sheet from ebay. Size was 100mm long X 32mm wide, cost was £1.25p including postage. I hacksawed the 100mm length in half to give two 50mm lengths and drilled two 12mm diameter hol...

Re: Morso Body, steel or cast iron?
The crack is on the body of the machine that is 1.5mm steel so easier to weld than cast iron (or aluminium for that matter!). Now I have taken the horizontal bar out at the back of the lever system, a small piece of the casing came away with it, on the right hand side this time! :o On the left side ...

Re: Morso Body, steel or cast iron?
I sent an email to Dan-List yesterday and received a reply at 07.54 this morning. How's that for service, with no money involved? "Hi John, Thank you for your mail. Your machine was made in 2001. ('Me'- It's had a hard life before I got it then!') :o If we understand you correctly, I thi...

Re: Morso Body, steel or cast iron?
The pedal doesn't travel further than it should as I don't have it on blocks. I don't know how it was used by previous owners. I think this is a long term problem that I was lucky to spot. I won't be doing the welding myself but wanted to get all the info before passing the job on to a welder friend...

Morso Body, steel or cast iron?
Checking over my old morso that now resides in my lean-to at the side of the house, I noticed a crack in the case adjacent to one end of the horizontal bar in the lever system at the back of the machine, going all the way around the back circumference on one side (left hand side as you are looking f...

Re: Cassese wedge identification.
The latest wedges are identified by a yellow pusher on hard wood wedges and a white pusher on soft wood wedges. None of the wedges I have are the new ones with the yellow pusher. All my wedges are old of various ages, hence the different end of box stickers on the cartons. I believe as graysalchemy ...

Re: Cassese wedge identification.
Thanks for that info.
I've looked at the leading edges under a not very good magnifying glass and (think!) I can just about make it out on them.
I will keep on looking or better still, invest in a new scope as price new for the wedges I'm unsure about, is well over £30.
Thanks again

Cassese wedge identification.
I'm sure this must be on the site somewhere but I cannot find it! I have just bought a CS79 to continue framing for a hobby. Boxes of old wedges was supplied with it which I am trying to identify for certain as for hard or soft wood. I am attaching a picture of some of the boxes so maybe some of the...

Re: Framing equipment for sale
Hi all, If anyone is interested, I still have the Cassese pneumatic underpinner. CS 299M Ultra for sale. This is a superb, serious piece of kit. It still has the 'sign off' ticket from the manufacturers attached to the side, dated 2002. In excellent condition, just a few wear marks as shown in the p...

Re: Framing equipment for sale
Yes, The mountcutter is still for sale. It's the Laser 1200, the 135cm length one. I lost my instruction book for it but luckily Keencut have just sent me a PDF file with it on. It wasn't until then that I knew which model it was so I hadn't put it in the original post. I have instruction books for ...
