Re: Wanted CMC.

Wizard customer service has now moved from the UK to Germany, so expected to not be as good as Gunnar or Valiani, that's all I have heard (from Gunnar!)

Re: Hello from Weymouth

Hi Hazel,
Welcome to the forum!
Everything you need to know can be found using the search box. There really is an incredible amount of knowledge documented on the forum. When I first joined, I read the entire site from beginning to end. Not something I recommend unless framing is your new obsession!

Re: Stretching Painted Linen

First thing that comes to mind is that Hotpress/Drytac do an adhesive specifically to adhere canvas to board in a vacuum press (assuming that the work can withstand heat and pressure?). I would assume that they also do one for a Drytac cold roller press, which are used by a lot of sign writer busine...

Worth putting a search on facebook marketplace, they do come up there sometimes. Also worth calling Hoffmann UK, they sometimes have part exchange machines.

Re: Insurance / working from home

I work from home, separate building. I've used Hiscox insurance for the last few years. Just make sure to include process cover/goods in your care, so that you're covered in case you accidentally damage a customer's piece.

Re: Large print mounting (on kappa board or similar)

If it a replaceable low value print, you can take it to your local signage/graphics company who, if they have a roller laminator, should be able to mount it for you. Forget about spraymount, none of them are actually permanent. If it is valuable/irreplaceable then reversible hinging is your best opt...

Re: Blade sharpening

I think Wessex is about £15+vat, collected and returned with their van delivery service as part of an order. I only get a fortnightly delivery service so turnaround for me is 4 weeks.

Re: Joining spacers when flat

Also are you using a decent PVA like Titebond. Clamped with a good glue, you'll have a job to pull it apart, imho. i use Ulmia clamps for something like this. Once in the frame, it won't be under much stress.

Re: Print 150cm x 100cm - Best approach ?

If the piece is EVA'd down onto 2400 undermount, I wouldn't expect this to warp. Foamboard is quite flexible and glueing one side down to foamboard may actually make it warp. It's a tricky one.

Re: Print 150cm x 100cm - Best approach ?

First question I don't understand. Do you mean that you're doing a floating hedgehog? In which case hinge the piece of work to a piece of smaller than the work bevelled mountboard and then EVA glue that to your undermount mountboard. Confusion is that backing board is the last piece of board before ...
