Re: copyright question

To mrdiy unless there is a contract to say otherwise, you would own a limited copyright meaning you can't print without the estates permission but they can't use your copy without your permission,so long as you had permission to copy it in the first place .b Sorry for my lack of clarification in prev...

Re: copyright question

The point is , op asked if he could copy a print of a now public domain image that was done in 1965 .the answer is no,not in the UK . as the act of copying the image holds its own copyright .I believe the UK is unique in this rulethe act of pressing a button on any piece of equipment holds a artisti...

Re: framing a TV

1000 x 620mm LG flat screen ,Tv is to bolted to the wall so the frame only has to sit on it the molding he iwants is Simon SARDO05 not really ideal but he would not entertain a deep molding .

Re: copyright question

Lol no. you can only print them for the artist or whoever owns his copyright . but if you kept the original for 70 years then scanned it you would own the copyright on the scan . again this is only law in the UK .In American law you would not own the copyright on a scan of a public domain image .

Re: Anyone offer photo restoration and framing?

Ok John, apart from the obvious things like PC spec. Photoshop short-cuts, learn the short cuts for the things you use most like ctrl + a (select all) ctrl + c (copy) ctrl + p (paste) if it hasn't got a pre set short cut you can make one in the settings. blotches on black and white or sepia, I would...

Re: Frame first or mount?

Simple answer ,it doesn't matter which you make first . we have different people cutting mounts than make the frames
, so long as your initial measurements are right all the rest will fall into place .

Re: Anyone offer photo restoration and framing?

I charge £60 per hour in, increments of £5 if a job takes 6 min, I would charge £10.
The trick in making enough money at this is to work quickly.
here is the last job I did It took 16 minuets so charged £20 + printing and framing.

If anyone wants any tips I'll be happy to post how I work.

Re: copyright question

In the UK you can not copy someone's copy as the secondary copy has a copyright regardless of the original being public domain . hope that makes sense .
Unless the copy is now public domain.
Also anything you scan or photograph you hold the copyright. but only in the UK

Re: Can it be saved?

Re order and get a credit on your twisted molding . you cannot use twisted molding on a mirror in if the corners had held it would have warped the mirror corners.
