Columbus points gun

I have a Columbus points gun (made in Germany with a ref. no. 756) really good piece of kit. However I am about to run out of points and nobody seems to sell them anymore. Is anyone aware if there are any out there or has anyone got any gathering dust they want to sell. Its a shame to have to buy a ...

T Hinge

When making a T Hinge using hinging tissue , I.E. mounting a very light piece of art work or a translucent piece do I use the same hinging tissue to complete the mounting to the mounting card.

I hope that makes sense.

bare wood frames (tidying)

Any advice on tidying up corners on bare wood frames, its just now and again I get a raggy mitre or perhaps the joint is not as tight as it should be.

It is quite possible that I am a c---p framer, however any advice would be gratefully received .

Re: Profit Margins

I think what I have been struggling with is that in my previous life if you could take a 5% gross profit you were doing very well although it was a high price item.

I am sure I will get used to taking a decent profit. Now that it will be going in to my pocket.

Thanks again.

Profit Margins

Being very new to the business I am still very unsure re. profit margins. I have the Estlite frame pricing software which I must say is very handy. However when I do the calculations it does appear that some of the quotes appear to be very expensive ( I have not set the calculations to a daft level ...

Greeting Cards

I have been trawling the Internet to try and locate some tasteful card companys . I felt it would help generate a few extra customers to the Gallery and workshop. What with Christmas looming . However all I can find are fluffy bunny type cards if you get my drift. Any recommendations would be gratfu...

Small problem with EXCALIBUR 5000

Very good piece of kit however I am having trouble cutting down large pieces of glass . The problem I am getting is that about two thirds down the score the glass breaks out to the left when trying to break the score. I have tried to break (probably not the right word) the glass starting from the to...

JFeig

Life is a little more laid back here in the welsh borders and whilst your comments re. customer service is very important a few extra days is not a deal breaker.
The fact that life is a little slower here is one of the main reasons my wife and I relocated to this area .
