Re: Burglar's dream

Do you not have 2 doors to your house John?
I would have expected at least 2 in your mansion.

Re: Live Webcam of store

I just had a quick look today. What a great idea, any chance you can talk us through the logistics of getting it up and running. Is it simply buying a webcam and becoming a broadcaster on ustream?
And I just heard you get a row for having the music up too loud

Double sided mount film

Where's the best place to buy double sided mount film for JM26?
Is it okay to use other makes, such as SeaLion because they are much cheaper?

What does edge band mean? I have a friendly local joiner so I might go there for mdf blocks.
I'll need to have a word with my local hotpress distributor and see what they do.
Thanks for the help so far.

Re: Uses for JM26

Making stuff and selling stuff is what I plan to do, although most of my work is reacting to customers' requests rather than speculating. So I'm hoping to make up some examples of each and say this is a service I offer. Is it still possible to get a starter pack(?) from Hotpress? If so who do we see...

Re: suppliers websites - an ask

Arqadia and FW Holroyd have a compare function. Not sure about any others as these are the two I use most.

Re: Framing a book

 Great how-to. You should run framing courses John :P
I spoke to a crafty friend recently and she was in the middle of replacing a wind chime that she had hung indoors with fishing line. It had become brittle and snapped. I don't think I would copy anything the Scots do

Lion sell a big roll, not too expensive and you will use it again. http://www.lionpic.co.uk/product/Clear-Polyester-Film-95%C2%B5--760mm-x-20m-roll,33926,0.aspx Download the Jim Miller book from here (3rd post down) and play about with it. http://theframersforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=9075&...

I'm still waiting :(

Taking card payments using smart phone

I know there are a couple of threads on this issue which I've read, but I'm hoping for an up-to-date review. Does anyone use any of these services which are pay as you go types. I have only been asked if I do card payments twice this year, so it's not a big deal, and I certainly won't be going down ...

Re: Keeping the frame

I took out the old artwork and cleaned it with a cleaning pad. Then I cleaned the glass and put it all back together again, minus the plywood backing that had warped. We spoke about UV glass etc. but decided that any damage that would have been done had been done in the last 100 years. Plus it was g...

Re: New website feedback please

I'd love to join in the discussion but it doesn't load for me running Chrome on Linux. I tried it on Firefox and it seems to be working now, but I think I'm stuck on the frame examples and I can't get any other information. As others have said I don't like sites with music and I normally close them....

Re: minerva moulding

There have been a few topics on this if you do a search for plastic or polcore mouldings. I personally don't like using them although I've had to do a few for customers when I've to match a previous moulding. I use bison glue and hold the two edges together far longer than I would normally (around 1...

Re: Keeping the frame

I probably would have had to frame it with the mount overlapping and a foamboard surround to support it, although that wouldn't have looked nearly so good.
Another option would have been a small moulding top and bottom to support it.

and would like to point out that 'collectibles' is spelt 'collectables' in the UK. Seeing as we're being pedants; it didn't look right to me so I checked and apparently it is chiefly collectable in UK, but collectible is acceptable, and actually probably technically more correct (if it's possible t...
