Re: Poor cuts
The 70mm figure is going to be the overall depth of the blade - so 20mm from the braise line could well be very borderline depending on the angle you take the measurement from - vertically straight down to blade edge or at 45 degrees from braise line to blade edge. They might be OK for another shar...
Re: Poor cuts
TGS recommend once your blades get less than 70mm they need replacing. Sounds like yours are less than this?

Re: Framing for critique
Thanks again everyone for the input. I love the idea of the painted bevel, colour matching is the way to go! Dermot, I like the blue thing going on here, I'm very tempted to to open it back up again and try to add the colour matched bevel Fruitini mentioned. I find it really tricky to make a decent...

Re: Framing for critique
Love the Portabello range from Lion. So versatile. You've found a great frame for your picture. I think I would gain the flash of blue that Jim was talking about with a painted bevel, and perhaps on a thicker board too. You can really dial in the colour match this way. If you don't fancy painting th...

TFI Friday! Further to the AI topic this image was generated using prompts on Midjourney AI image generator. Have been looking for some eye-catching art to showcase Lion’s great Oregon veneer range. Colourmount’s ‘Harvest’ linen mount completes the African vibe. https://www.lionpic.co.uk/p/42366/40m...

Yes ChatGPT does write very well! Would be ideal for blog posts and the like. I guess consistent use might become a bit robotic!!!

Re: AI (Artificial Intelligence) and the Art & Framing Industry
I think you are right and there most definitely is a market for those not so art savvy that don’t care much about art producers and provenance. Basically what they are looking for is a a subject of choice and in a colour to match the sofa or curtains. Of course these AI’s are trained on existing art...

AI (Artificial Intelligence) and the Art & Framing Industry
Over the past month or so we have been dipping our toes into the world of AI and in particular experimenting with OpenAI’s DALL•E 2, which uses AI technology to create images and artwork from a simple text description. You are able to dial in a particular style, subject, influence and concept to cre...

I couldn’t find any either when I was looking so decided to make my own. It’s not very complicated really although I can’t remember exactly how I did it!!! If you can frame you should be able to figure out!! A few batons cut at the right angles, a bit of MDF tacked to it and a lick of paint! Y...

Re: 2x Canvasses
Do you have a heat press? MountCor Canvas (available from Lion) is a great product for adhering canvas. It activates at lower temperatures than usual dry mounting tissue/film so less potential to do damage to paint or inkjet surface of the canvas. The substrate is a 5mm stiff foamboard so could pote...

Re: Vintage postcard
A fine-art reproducer/giclee printing outlet could replicate this for you no problem. Your average desktop scan/print setup won’t get close to the quality you desire. A fine art quality smooth paper can be selected to match the postcard finish. Happy to help if needed.

Re: Saving newly created shape on V Studio
I’m not sure this is possible to save as a .plt via Create. What you can do is open your .vds file in Create, copy your shape (ctrl+c), open a new file and paste (ctrl+v) your shape in into your new file. Well worth learning the basics with Corel Draw though. I posted a very useful pdf in the Drawin...

Using up scraps….! (the festive edition)
 🎅🏽 Hope you are all getting in the festive spirit?! Shop decs are up. Tree idea shamelessly stolen from Framers Only last Christmas. A whole years worth of scrap frames went into it! Strange considering your success with your original post. Try editing by reorienting and resaving your original image. Perhaps it’s displaying corrected on your machine but the file is inverted?
