It used to be supplied by Wiggins Teape - I know because I sold hundreds of thousands of metres of it back in the eighties in my photo wholesale days... foamex is not reccomended for use with heated machinery as it is a "thermally expanded plastic" that is to say it is full of microscopic gas bubbles - which when heated expand & cause the board to go "floppy".

The Canadian Division of Hot Press is called Drytac - try them on http://www.drytac.ca/ then select Canada from the world map & if your calling them ask for Luigi - he is a whizz on this stuff!!!

There really isn't anything thinner around unfortunately - but if the demand was there we could look into it for you. On a more positive note, if you warm the canvas back up again (by resting it on top of a warm press) it will stretch easier than if it is "stone cold".

Hi Áine - Only too happy to oblige... For this procedure you will need a "combination" heat & vacuum press. Heat or vacuum on their own will not achieve the results required. The Problem - It can be very difficult to "beautifully" frame water colour paintings that are deliver...
