Re: Which Moulding Supplier Do You Use and Recommend?
There are plenty of suppliers out there (Nielsen Design, Larsen Juhl, Centrado, Lion, Flagship Framing, Mainline, Rose and Hollis, Wessex, Simons). I know that Centrado and Wessex use their own vans and there is a distinct advantage to that over the general carriers. In no particular order, we use N...

I would be charging at least 2 hours labour just for the stretching - assuming bench is clear, stretchers/braces assembled etc.

Re: Cleaning Ultraview UV70
We use Artglass supplied by Centrado. They are delivered in packs of 4 with polythene sheets between each piece. Very rarely is there a mark on the glass - we use a soft microfibres cloth (only used on Artglass) to give it a gentle wipe over to remove anything that may have landed on it after cuttin...

Re: Bambi Compressor Help
What Abacus just said.
If you are lucky you should be able to remove the connectors from your dead compressor and fit them to the replacement. I tend to wrap PTFE tape on the threads to help with sealing the joints.

Re: Mountboards
Never seen it personally but would be not too difficult to make; dry mount some tartan fabric or printed paper to a board and cut aperture as normal

Re: Wanted: Someone to make frames for me
As a custom framer I would charge somewhere between £30 and £40 for what you want. A quick Google search brings up a ready made frame company that can provide what you want at your price band

Re: Tax on business startup
I started as a sole trader after framing as a hobby and this was after extensive conversations with accountants and a half day of advice with HMRC. Many accountants will give prospective customers a 15 minute interview free of charge - you can glean a lot of information in that time, I did this with...

Jeremy,
Glass - AR70
Not stuck but I did use another flat board behind to give it a bit more stiffness before (the slightly bowed) backing board. Our self made spacers were enough to hold it all in place

Here’s one we did last year. The moulding was a deep rebate from Lion and I made my own spacers lined with black mountboard. This 3D is made from plastic.
