Royal Enfield - 2000km - mid life crisis

I hope you all don't mind but this is one big plug. Mark my partner is doing a 2000km bike ride on a royal enfield through rural india in January for charity. Now we are talking about a guy who hasn't been on a bike for 14 years and can only just squeeze him self into his leather jacket. He therefor...

Re: linen mount

Peeled the linen and wrapped around bevel Prospero style. Took longer that it did for you I suspect and not quite as sharp but I am happy. Looks really good.
another learning curve.
thanks all.

Re: linen mount

Thanks all
No slip/fillet, the customer just doesn't want a bevel showing , I am cutting face down with slip mat. Tried cutting face up but struggled with overcuts.
Thanks for all your thinking time guys.

Re: linen mount

Thanks tried the S012 and the 15 works fine on a regular bevel its when its reversed that it seems to be a problem Unless it is a case that the bevel is just a little more forgiving and therefore it doesn't show in the same way.

linen mount

Is there a knack that I am missing? trying to cut a linen mount ( colourmount) with a reverse bevel, new blades all square but still the cut across the linen looks jagged due to the cut not following the weave. what am I doing wrong? :head:

Re: framing needlework

Thanks I guess I was looking to complicate things when I didn't need to. I thought that it may have been specialist thread for what ever reason and wanted to make sure I used the correct threads. Also not being a needlework person I didn't really know what I was asking for, when I did ask for advice...

framing needlework

Morning all,
can anyone point me in the right direction for a good supplier of threads for lacing a variety of cross stitch's, embroidery's etc. I am struggling to find the variety and quantity locally, I am particularly wanting a suitable thread for Aida fabric.
thanks as usual.

Re: You are lucky !

I never take this forum for granted and have never met another profession so eager and happy to share their knowledge and experience. It is like having a libary in your workshop just about framing. What more could you ask for. Big thank you to everyone

Re: Deleting Customers

I seem to be having the opposite problem unless it is the fact that I am using the bbest programme rather than the full estelite. Can you save customer info/dockets and can you save their details rather than having to re input for each frame? As soon as I print it all disappears and have to put in t...

Re: working with a third party

Thanks to everyone for their words of advice and general support. I now feel really excited about the opportunity and more confident to stride ahead with it all. I have spent a large part of the week so far sorting out my pricing etc. ( needed re-doing anyway) and it has given me the push to buy the...

Re: working with a third party

framejunkie - our posts must have crossed over during sending, I certainly wasn't ignoring you. I think your idea would be great if we were in the same place but we have a 12 miles between our services and I think we would loose customers along the way, unless it was for something special. certainly...

Re: working with a third party

thanks prospero I take all your points on board and perhaps I should give a little more info. One is a print shop who are looking to offer a fuller service for those who come in with pictures/canvas printing so I am not expecting anything other than straight forward stuff. They are also looking for ...

working with a third party
