Hi there,
Tested a piece that was with the information pack that came with a large map couple month ago.
Dry mounted 3 in past month. All fine.
All i would say is better to use a fresh piece of silicone sheet in the dry mounter. Any marks/lines/creases in the silicone show up in the foil.

Re: CMC choices
I myself use a Gunnar F1 but unlike Kevlar and grahamdown I don't have the Hybrid. Something I'm leaning on the boss for. I love my Gunnar. The software is a treat, especially since the update a while back, and the support from Sarah & Jarvis is second to non. One of the little things i love is ...

Currently have a set of medals with irreplaceable photo & military badge. What sweaty baboon ball has super glues the MDF backing onto the frame requiring hammer & chisel to open it. Only to find inside that this degenerate had super glued the mount to the MDF backing. Even worse this rhinoc...

Sorry late reply ... been busy as. But as the compressor is off for maintenance I've been drawn to a stand still. So thank you Realhotglass. Smiffy we use Pigment inks which lay a smooth solid line but we have come across the odd pen where the nib doesn't roll that well and a pen that's a joy to use...

I was talking with someone about framing & we calculated about 6 framers in Norwich city alone.
Raised the question.
Do we know how many picture framers there are in the UK?

Our conservation depoartment get a lot of urban art from London. We've seen a lot of pieces requesting full conservation framing (because that's the done thing) except the artist hadn't considered what s/he's doing the art work on. All the conservation in the world won't protect a piece of art that ...

A Man & his Gunnar.
Firstly, it was recommended that rather then plague the forum with various posts I should keep them to one thread. So hear it is. I will update here with future projects. Secondly, here is a collection of various pieces I've recently done that mainly, on a whole, required the Gunnar to achieve. McLa...

Re: Burglar's dream
February last year we were burgled via a PVC door. The burglar, a crack addict, tried a single backward kick & the hinges popped. Turned out they were held onto the door via 2 little brass screws drilled into the plastic. Although the door had 5 re-enforced locks down the left side ... it had 4 ...

Nice, used this process on things like tiles with 5mm foam on the back.
Very handy process.
On a different note I have examples of that grid stitching for holding something that's completely 100% reversable.
Will post at weekend.
