The Guild's Awards Weekend takes place at The Old Swan Hotel (Harrogate)of the weekend 16/17 May. This also coincides with the start of Continuing Professional Development(CPD) and the inaugural lecture and associated workshop. The Guild is extremely proud to announce, that Guild Member, Joanna Kosek will present this inaugural programme.

Joanna Kosek ACR ICON is the Head of Pictorial Art Conservation at the British Museum and one of the UK's leading conservators. This is an excellent opportunity for members and non-members to listen and learn from a conservator of her standing. The programme and timings are as follows:

Programme: 16 May 2015

1. Illustrated talk (40min): 1230 - 1330
 
The Story of Conservation Mounting

2.    Practical session (2 hrs) : 1430 - 1630

Discussion:

- Considerations before mounting;

Demonstration and practice:

- Mount  construction and aperture selection;
Object attachment;
- V- and T-hinging;
- Non-adhesive hinging
- Hinging for artwork on thin and sensitive papers;
- Hinging for artwork on thick, heavy or distorted supports.
