FATG Art & Framing Convention

Post by Tudor Rose »

Just a reminder that the Fine Art Trade Guild annual Art & Framing Convention is on next weekend at the Holiday Inn at Stratford Upon Avon. There is the Guild Artists' Exhibition, Framing Awards, educational events, the Guild AGM and the dinner dance.

Programme of events starts on Saturday morning with a session by photographic conservator Susie Clark on conservation issues of photographs and passe-partout and presentation cases. Followed by John Roland from Salt of the Earth on making your art work for you - marketing and PR for artists.

In the afternoon Susie Clark presents the conservation of the world's earliest photographs: an investigation of the frames and reframing process. This is followed by Rob Griffith from Permajet talking about producing giclées: achieving perfection. Then there is a workshop presented by Mal Reynolds on non-adhesive support of artwork, and the Guild's Fine Art Committee hosting an artist panel discussion on all matters facing artists today.

The evening starts with a private view of the Artists Exhibition followed by the dinner dance, Guild awards presentations and the chance to socialise and chat and share ideas with others in the industry.

The Guild AGM will take place on Sunday morning and the last session of the convention will be an introduction to the new Guild Certified Framer qualification and Continuing Professional Development.

The event is open to members and non-members and the hotel is located within walking distance of the tourist spots in the centre of Stratford Upon Avon.

There is more information and you can book tickets via the Guild website: http://www.fineart.co.uk/guild_art_and_ ... on_uk.aspx
