Fine Art Trade Guild : Conservation Framing Course

The Fine Art Trade Guild will be hosting a 1 Day Conservation Framing Principles Course:
When: 20th July 2016
What: It is intended to prepare candidates going forward for the Advanced examination in Conservation, however it is also useful for those studying for the GCF(APF) basic exam. This would also extend to non-Guild members interested in conservation level framing. Subjects to be covered include:
- Anoxic method of sealing the mount package and glass
- Conservation framing techniques
- Damage mechanisms; their identification and explanations
- Mountboard definitions and uses
- General conservation definitions and terminology
There will also be a hands on workshop on the hinging of artwork using Japanese papers as well as a demonstration of an anoxic method of sealing the mount package and glass. Whilst this is primarily for those interested in taking the GCF and especially the Advanced Accreditation it is open to all who have an interest in Conservation Framing.
