mona lisa project

Post by Timh »

we were asked to make a copy of the frame on the Mona Lisa

the frame was hand carved and gilded and we documented the process so people can see it made
really enjoying the carving and getting quite a few commissions

Very interesting, nice job.
May one ask the retail price of such a fine thing?

Good job!

Can't even contemplate being able to come close to being able to do something like that!
Thanks,

Very nice job indeed Tim. Great to see frames being made using traditional skilled techniques

Looks splendid. And presumably therefore with a Chinese copy oil in it - they can be quite good. Dulwich Picture Gallery put a 'fake' into their collection a couple of years ago.
