That's very sad, I spoke to him on the phone only a few weeks ago. Such a nice chap.

I haven't logged on in a few days but I saw on a Facebook framers page that a Framer in Barnard's Castle had passed.
I knew Ricky was from there but even so it was still a shock to see it on here.
I met Ricky at NYAF hand finishing weekend a few years ago; nice, genuine bloke.
Condolences to his family and friends.

I have no idea whether anyone connected to Ricky's family will have sight of this, but I'd like to say it anyway.

I hope Ricky had the dignified send-off he deserved, and that his loved ones and friends are bearing up.

People from many walks of life - from the world of music to framing - took Ricky to their hearts. And it's not difficult to see why.

Rest in peace, Ricky. And my sincere condolences to those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

God bless you, Ricky.

So sad to hear that Ricky has passed away. I met him only the once, when I purchased some display cabinets a couple of years ago from him. He was a true gent, very friendly, and waxed lyrical about his wife's artistry talents.

Please accept my sincerest condolences.

Sorry to hear just now of Ricky's death. I met him a few times and remember spending a few days with him on a hand finishing course by Mark down in Devon. A real gentleman.

I only met Ricky in person at the hand finishing course, but he was someone who the others on the course and also my wife and I found it very easy to connect with and be drawn to. He was obviously very much a people person and could easily connect with people at whatever level they were at. He was definitely someone who once you had met him, you would not easily forget.

Yes, he was a gifted and competent framer, gifted singer and entertainer, but ignoring all that, he was a really nice and very special person in so many other ways too! While it is true that we are sad to have lost a special member from our midst, it is also true that those of us who knew him, even if we only got to know him briefly, will probably not easily forget someone who made such a lasting impression on so many people.

Was he someone special? Oh yes, no doubt about it! Everyone on that course, definitely noticed him and connected with him, he was a real joy to be with, having him with us on that course was one of the best things about that course. All the rest was somewhat secondary. It's people and relationships that make life have meaning and Ricky was one of those who made those two days so special.
