Had a day out of the workshop today and reached new heights. I volunteered to raise funds for the NI Cancer Fund for Children by abseiling from a local viaduct. Well, it seemed like a good idea at the time! Here is me hanging around this morning trying to sell these people above me a bespoke frame. It certainly introduced me to a wider circle of acquaintances anyway. Not sure this is how I envisaged "swinging" though.
Anyone who is feeling generous can still help me raise funds for this very worthy cause by going to http://www.justgiving.com/Rolf-Lawson . Any donations large or small would be most welcome and for every £5 donated the government add another £1.25 through the gift aid scheme.
Gonna sit down and have a nice relaxing drink now.
Rolf

Re: Raising Funds for the NI Cancer Fund for Children
My daughter (Sam) took the photos. I was the second one down out of about forty volunteers.
Because of the high parapet we could not see what was happening below us, so didn't know that the first one down, a lady, had ended up hanging upside down. Sam was so engrossed in watching the instructors try to help her get back up the right way she forgot to take any photos.
I think if any of those waiting had known what was going on they might have changed their minds, so the parapet was probably a good thing. I really enjoyed myself despite the weather and would recommend it to anyone thinking of having a go.
