Re: CMC Based Shirt Work
Like the design and concept, looks really good, but I do have one little criticism, it poked me in the eye, the top left corner, the angle of the mount opening, it shows a different amount of under mount as the top and sides, I would fix that and re-cut it. But over all I like it and I just might nick the idea

Re: CMC Based Shirt Work
i quite like it
the only thing i would say if the mount borders dont seem wide enought with the width of the frame, i would be tempted to have more mount, it almost looks as if it been crammed in if you know what i mean

Steve N: You are correct, and it's the one thing that bugged me. At the time the gunnar was running through a usb - serial port convertor as the graphics card wasn't accepting the serial port card. The result was that the gunnar would randomly miss first cuts. Be it aperture or external. This particular mount was cut 5 times just to get the top white layer. The apertures were created using the draw mode line tool & i miss calculated that top corner and only realised once the top layer was complete. Most annoying. Customer didnt have a problem with it though.
Stcstc: Hey there. I understand where your coming from on that one. I believe this shirt was a XXL and your looking at the full width of sheet of mount board 816mm. I was restricted by the board chosen.

Which is often the case, and the colours chosen are not available in jumbo
If the customer is ok with that corner, all to the good, just me being a framer, must get out of the habit, off to the pub now for lunch, will try and not look at the framed work on the walls

Re: CMC Based Shirt Work
A nice piece of work, and I too saw the top left hand issue as well.
You say that you cut the top mount 5 times which begs the question: Do you make any money out of this type of work.
Setting up the cutting of the 19 and gazza would take a while and 5 mountboards are at least twenty quid. Not to mention all the rest of the work.
They look nice but are they "loss leaders"?

Re: CMC Based Shirt Work
These could very well be a loss. But the need to cut so many times was down to us not having the Gunnar set up correctly. As the boss wasn't being prompt with the IT support to get it up and running properly I think he bit the bullet on some of these.
Saying that we've taken orders off the back of these.
The customer has brought in 13 shirts to be done in this manner so I hope the boss is charging correctly. I don't having anything to do with the sale side of things I just over see all mount work & customer contact from that side of things. I work for fairly large framers, to give you an idea I order on about 100 sheets of standard sized mount board a week.

You could be just wasteful as you had to cut the top mount 5 times, I'm a one-man-band, and my normal weekly order for mountboard is not far off that, the other weeks it far exceeds that and I still like your design, which I may adapt for my work .

Re: CMC Based Shirt Work
Steve N my colleague just saw your post regarding being wasteful haha
He made me laugh, he noted...
you're a one man band shifting 100 sheets.
We're 12 man band shifting 100 sheets.
Wasteful we can not be! I need to pay me rent! haha
It scares me what our overheads must be!

Re: CMC Based Shirt Work
We're a three man band (one short of a Fab Four), and probably shift about 25 sheets (I've never counted, but that seems about right).
