Award winning framing

Post by Roboframer »

Over the years we've accumulated a lot of framing awards so we thought it was about time we put them on display. There's so many (because we are so fantastic) that they'll fill four frames! Here they are mounted.

There's quite a few 'Clear Round' awards - that's a complete lap of the workbench without swearing or breaking anything! "Obedience" relates to doing something horrible to something nice at the customer's insistence and "Agility" relates to stuff like picking up a sheet of 1600x1100 glass with cotton gloves and making it to the maxi-slasher Juuuuuust before it slides out of your grip.

interesting information - well not for everyone! :o

The coloured boards in the centre of a rosette are made by Slater Harrison - makers of Colourmount.
Its called INGERSLEY Ticket Board and used to be used mainly in Dept Stores for making price tickets, and in TV studios for Caption boards - both those end uses long gone
Rosettes were another use, which still survives.
There used to be about 6 Rosette makers in UK and a couple in Ireland.

Its quite fascinating to watch them being made.

There's a face on top of your dehumidifier.
Never entered a competition. I've been framing for 6 years and the boss/owner doesn't care for such things.

But I am entering the current Gunnar comp.
