closed corner contemporary frame in schlagg leaf

Post by Geoff »

Again in poplar, this is a frame in 2.5 schlagg leaf under a red ground. It has been left very clean and crisp with no distressing at all. Suitable for a wide variety of art. Although you can't see from the image, the sides have been painted with a pale ochre size. The leaf was adhered with a dilution of wundersize and distilled water. The red ground under the leaf, I used a gelatin based bole instead of a traditional rabbit skin one, just find this better when working with schlagg leaf. All was sealed with renaissance wax.
