A recent mirror frame

Post by Geoff »

This frame is approximately 5' (152.5cm)square and was made to house a large mirror I had at home. It is completely made out of poplar timber using in many different profiles. All the ripple moulding was made using my home made equipment using a router and various cutters. The frame was finished in black powder spirit stains and many fine layers of ebonite polish before being cut back many times then finally bee's waxed using a friction brush, (circular brush with the bristles horizontal to the stem, some people call them Zebra wheels). The profile is 6.1/2" (17cm.)wide.
