Not to be confused with a needlepoint done on canvas mesh, there is no base fabric on this, it's woven on a loom. Done by my drawing teacher - I'll post the framed thing when done - very plain and simple choice; although she does like getting jiggy with colour, not this time.
For her wool she uses a small company that makes their own from plucking their own sheep through spinning and dyeing. When she started she wasn't sure if she'd bought quite enough to complete the thing and colours can have slight variation from batch to batch but she knew they had plenty and barring the facility burning to the ground, she'd be fine.
She had not bought quite enough; the facility burnt to the ground!
She managed to get the colours she wanted from a weaving/craft group she's a member of and carried on, but it just wasn't right - you (well, she) could see the colour variation. She'd got about half way up - she undid the lot and started again!
So, anyway, can't decide - carpet tape or staples?

Re: Tapestry
Dry mount it
Re: Tapestry
I don't have to worry actually, she's already stitched it to foam board - has to do it herself because of the wadding that raises parts of it up. I have to add another piece of foam board to raise it further away still from the mounting board (I call that a 'pedestal' mount) and there's no problem sticking that to her foam board (between her rows of stitches) and then sticking that to the mounting board - won't be carpet tape though, PVA would be no problem I suppose but it'll probably be starch paste.
Re: Tapestry
"I have" are the first two words of a prayer - once mounted I gave the customer a call and she took it away to write the full prayer below in pencil and sign it.
