Can you see the elephant?

Another thumbs up  for hand finishing and how it can just be simple.

Ash moulding and obeche slip both painted with F&B paints, sandpaper distressed and clear wax.

Very nice David, love the way the moulding suites this style of image, is the moulding a lighter blue on the outer edge, very nice touch if so

No, just the shiny wax catching the light but wish I'd thought of that.... :Slap:

Looks terific. Also, although it took a while to understand, but I love the funny elephant story on the back.

Only one nit-pick. The white bevel. Been nicer with a fillet hf to the same as the gold sight edge. :D

Or simply use a black core or a reverse bevel. A line around tends to accentuate the off centre position of the image.

I hate it when framers try too hard to make something that tries too hard to compete with the art it houses but I actually quite like this dude. You must've been made up when you handed this bad boy over to the customer.

it works very well David, well done.

If I was to nit pick, the main focus is sat a little low, the white bevel looks fine to me.

Made up indeed as was the customer! I'm very lucky as a lot of my customers give me carte blanche when designing their frames. The only thing this customer knew about the design was I might use a bit of blue!
