frame for oil painting commission (progression)

Postby Geoff » Mon Dec 15, 2014 10:35 am

This the progression of one of my handmade frames for an oil commission. Will be on a Pre-Raphaelite theme. Still needs more gesso before sanding and other stages begin before water giding. The panels will have pinched decoration. The corner finial is of "celtic" La Tene design from a gold "torc" finial and will be depicted in the finished oil painting. The corner mouldings are all scribed joints.
