Wru Jersey

Post by Jayvee »

I know this won't be everyone's cup of tea - but I'm mega happy with how it turned out! Customers brief was 'high-end'. Hopefully ive gone someway to attempt it!!

Framed in Ashworth & Thompson 6006.48 (amazing frames), TV museum glass (amazing glass), suede backing mount & inner mount & my floaty shirt method!!

Makes a change from customers saying as cheap as possible please (which I pretend not to hear).

Looks great I am sure they will be over the moon

I think that is a well framed piece not overly complicated but more than enough to compliment the frame.

Well done.

Very nice - and that moulding range really is amazing.

I drove through Abergavenny on Fri May 8 - thought about pulling over and googling you but was running a bit late. Was on my way to Llandod - an annual reunion -
maybe next year.

Drove back on the Sunday and the satnav by-passed Aber - don't know why, traffic, accident, one-way system not as good going South??? Being a Satnav sheep I had no idea until I was way past!

John,
Next time in Abergavenny go to Luigis - its brilliant

Here's my post on Trip Advisor

Had breakfast this morning - cooked perfectly. The coffee is to die for. The regulars at 8 - 9 an are a hoot - its like "Last of The Summer Wine", but it's entertainment
Was enjoying myself so much had a second coffee
Then discovered my car was trapped in the market car park ! The posts come up at 9 am - but a very obliging Market Manager got them dropped to let me out!

The knight bus (of Harry Potter fame) once dropped someone off here too but only in the book form not the films!

I've lived here all my life Keith, but I've never been to luigis- crazy! It is up for sale at the moment.everytime I walk past though there is a regular whose dog will sit on top of his car, whilst he has his breakfast!

John - with regards to the floaty method - it's as it is there really - ahirt appears to be floating in the frame - you can't see one visible fixing at all. Combination of mount board former and wadding really. However I am most disappointed that you were running a little late! Would have been nice to meet! I may have even offered you a tea (or coffee) and some cake!!! There is an awesome coffee/cake shop round the corner who supply some big names (Fortnum & Mason are one I think).

We may have crossed paths, I spent a short time in Crickhowell between junior service and joining my battalion. Pretty much all I remember about Abergavenny is a pub called The Rising Sun which seems to be gone now unless I've got the name wrong.

All being well I'll be up again the second weekend of May next year.

Well that all depends on when you were stationed here!!:) I may not have been in secondary school!! :)

Rising sun - it's not a pub I remember! But it has probably changed names I would imagine! :)

Probably had to be shut down for reasons of health and safety.

Apparently it’s been the ruin of many a young man, a house where they would spend their life in sin and misereee. :music:

Durraing durraing!

Well my old Regiment's forum & facebook page don't know what I'm on about so I think I must have got it totally wrong but I thought I could even remember the pub swing-sign with ....... the rising sun on it!

It was 1972 anyway.

Is there more than the one Rising Sun in that area, and the one that comes up in the search engines isn't it?

That one is a little out of town - maybe 5 or 6 miles - it's in pandy really - so didn't think that was the one John was talking bout! But it's odd even though it's that far out of town that it's still classed as abergavenny!

I saw that one, the one I remember/dreamt of is in the town centre - I've looked at the existing pub names and none ring a bell.

Oh mother, tell your children
Not to doooo what Aaaaah have done
Be the oooonly one that remembuuuuz
A pub, called the Riiiiising Sun

I've found an Abergavenny times past FBook page and asked there.

There's a reason I remember this pub so well - I was underage and with there being an Army training depot just up the road, pubs were pretty savvy - this one was more relaxed. It was my first 'regular'.
