Here's a handy way to dispense gum tape, when sealing up the backs of pictures.

The rolls are attached to the side of the work bench, allowing for easy use and storage. They are arranged in pairs, one above the other, to allow two strips to be measured and cut at once.

A handy cutter can be fabricated from a peice of plastic guttering.

The tape is measured and cut in one simple action.

Hi John,

Great idea, beats my wife's system, of old pyrex dish lid, with sponge, and water, although if using this method please remember to change the sponge at regular intervals. She has the pateince of a saint, and measures the amount of tape needed, plus an extra inch or 2, then makes it fit and trims either end. NO amount of change or upgrading will ever make her change.

Glad to see your up and running again, all the best for the future. If you need anything at all, just ring me.

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for your kind words.

I forgot to mention that to moisten the sponge we keep a 1 litre squeezy bottle of water handy, to which has been added a few drops of bleach - it keeps that sponge-gunge at bay.
