Hello
I'm posting again after the amazing encouragement i received for my work.
This is a very unique moulding i made, this frame is made of spruce wood and it's only as a sample, to stay at the workshop, sometimes I fill the curve with gold leaf or color it different than rest of the frame, it depends nor client taste, but many love this special style i made in this frame.
I made it with special specifications and measurements to carry very heavy and thick art work like mosaic art or ceramics, beside any other kinds even it's nice as a picture frame.
Thickness is 8 centimeters
Width is 7.5 centimeters
Depth available for art work is what make it special moulding
It's 6.5 centimeters and possible to make it deeper.
i always make my new designs, and i will share more
Hope you like it and looking for ward to receive your critiques and comments.
Special deep frame.
Re: Special deep frame.
That's very impressive.
How did you do the crinkly sides?

I do it by gluing paper sheets and i control the wrinkles, next when it's dry i color it with dark color, then some gold powder mixed with sealer.

Thanks for the explanation.
I've seen instructions for that leathery texture on YouTube. Haven't got around to trying it yet.
Pleased to see it does actually work. Love the silvery effect.

Glad u like it and i will try to post more in a new thread.prospero wrote:Thanks for the explanation.
So much you can do with the leathery texture and you will see that in the link,
It's very simple and easy but results is great, so i only paint the frame with white, then using a cotton cloth i spread brown oil color, then wipe it.
Finally a finishing coat.
The link is from my google drive to give you a chance to see the image with full resolution

Here's one of the many YouTube vids on the subject of 'leathery' paint effects....
There are lots more and all do it slightly different. Interesting.....
(Never tried it but on the to-do list)
