Help please - Fletcher 2100

Post by Alzibiff »

Hello everyone - here's hoping (and confident too) that you can help me here.
I have a Fletcher 2100 which I purchased second hand some time ago. I notice that there are two rubber or plastic 'feet' stuck to the underside of the long black clamp, (one at each end), which is used to hold the mount board and slip sheet firmly to the base when cutting. Are these 'feet' original or has the previous owner stuck them there for some reason? They are are both slightly thicker than a couple of standard thickness mount cards put together which means that the mount can shift slightly over the slip sheet once the clamp has been set down. To be honest, I only noticed this when trying to cut a multi-aperture card today, (I have been using a different cutter up to now for multi apertures).
My first thought is to remove these feet but why on earth did the previous owner stick them there in the first place?

Thank you for your comments.

Oh sod it - took 'em off.
Works fine and dandy - can't think what they were there for in the first place though.
