Google Sites - anyone a whizz on it??

I'm having problems with the setting up of our new website on Google Sites.

Fundamentally its there, in terms of text, images etc... but... The problem i'm having is trying to change the theme, or the sidebar etc...

I know that I should have to go into 'more' (top right of screen) then select 'manage site' then on the left hand side of the screen I should have a few options... all I have is: recent site activity, pages, attachments, page templates, apps script & deleted items.

The 'help' section of Google Sites all says the same thing, so I don't know if i'm just missing something, or whether my Mac is at fault (which I doubt).

Boggled.

If you are using safari as your browser try a different one like firefox just to rule it out.

I'm not at all familiar with Google Sites, however I suspect that you are somehow logging in as someone with permission to edit the site rather than as the site owner. This might explain why you are being presented with a subset of options rather than the full edit menu.
