Are Tablets the next big thing in frame pricing?

Post by Grahame Case »

Hi all,

just a quick scout for opinions here. We are increasing using Ipads within our work environment for our till system (Vend) and time keeping system (Deputy), along with taking photos of customers work prior to pricing for layout of complex multi window and multi item pieces.

I feel the time might be right for a Tablet or cloud based Frame pricing system that all the information in stored in the cloud, like our till system - but there doesn't appear to be a program out there that does this right now.

what are your thoughts?

Yes definately. I would like a system that prices a job, stores quotes until they are needed ( I spend half my life quoting for jobs which don't appear for 6 months) and when a job finally comes in produces cutting lists handles moulding ordering etc etc, oh and integrates into sage for invoicing.

Tablets would be so handy for cutting lists etc. :D

I'd dearly like a a full pricing app for the iPad. I use my iPad as an POS terminal with PayPal Here and having the pricing, payment and invoicing tools all on one device would be very nice.

Wessex do a version of their pricing software for tablets. Details here - http://www.wessexpictures.com/wessex_pricing_app.html

Has anyone had any experience of this?

Looks like Wessex only do a Android App,
which wouldn't work with any Apple device. :(

The AppInstitue will make you one. Starting from £6000  Steve Hibble needs to get a Mac and develop an iPhone version of the Wessex app!

Yes, I would love a ipad dedicated pricing program - especially if it was easily integrated with all the other stuff I have BT'd to it. I already use a surface pro - slightly iPad like, but not as good. The observation using this with Estlite would be that touch screens need big targets - well they do for my fingers. Estlite isn't touch screen friendly at iPad screen sizes and any successful program would need to accommodate touchable space and therefore reduce the amount of info you were able to access with one screen.

Hi, I-FRAMER has been available in Australia for several years. Cloud based - Apple, PC, Tablet, smartphone friendly.
We are planning this year to make it available overseas.

We just need to finish a couple of things off first.

If you are interested in being beta testers for the international version send me an email. info@i-framer.com.au.

Also, if anyone is interested would happily do a Skype tour with you. Skype: i-framer
Please just mention in the request "i-FRAMER tour"
