Contract CMC wanted

Post by lawrieh »

Hi
I am cutting mounts by hand, but looking to save time and get them cut wholesale. Just wondering what sort of volumes would be required to make it worthwhile for someone with a mount cutter.

Sizes have been designed so they mostly nest pretty efficiently out of a 815mmx1125mm 1.4mm thick board. There are about 3 different layouts to cover fluctuations in demand for different sizes, I would say there are on average about 5 mounts per sheet to be cut.

I would be happy to supply the mountboard, drop off, take the dog for a long walk then pick up a few hours later if possible so there is no faffing with wrapping and postage and I would treat it as a day out/off. Preferably somewhere close to London.

Is anybody interested? what sort of volume and price would make it worthwhile for someone, it would be a regular order.

I may also want thicker mount boards cut, or I may switch it all over to thicker mounts in which case can most CMC cope with 3mm mount boards. What is the largest size boards most machines can cope with?

Thanks

Would 50 full sheets cut into 600 mounts be of interest to anyone to do on a regular basis?

Hi Steve
thanks for the offer, I might be in Bristol shortly and if there is room in the transport I will try and take 50 mount boards with me, can you cut 3mm ( or thereabouts) mountboard?

thanks

Hi Lawrie
No sorry we don't cut 3mm boards much and I don't like putting the machine through it a lot either.

Hi Steve, I mostly need standard mounts cutting. I could always do the 3mm by hand and CMC the 1.4mm stuff myself. Thanks for the offer...

Hi all
I ran out of time the last time I needed mount cutting to use anyone from FF but the time is here again to cut more. It looks like we will need around 585 mounts in various sizes cutting. We have dropped the 3mm thick mount requirements for the time being so it will all be standard mount thicknesses.

I am happy to buy the mounts and have them delivered to you or alternatively arrive with them, run the machine or let you do it and then pack them myself and leave with the mounts in the car to save you faffing about with postage and packing.

Thanks

With that volume of production you might want to look for a used CMC.

I would be charging about $100/ hr considering a labor rate plus overhead on my machine
