Watching the rugby?

Post by Roboframer »

Below's a cut & paste from FB. Assuming "Rybgi" is Welsh for Rugby - I actually is Welsh innit - but dunner speak it.

A bit of info to put rybgi in Wales in perspective:

"England, population 56,100,00 - rygbi clubs 2,000 - registered players (all sexes, ages) 2·5 million.
France, population . 65,000,000 - rygbi clubs 1,798 - registered players 360,847.
Ireland, population . 4,487,000 - registered players 153,823.
Wales, population . 3,000,000 - rygbi clubs 239 - registered players 79,800

Since 2003
Grand Slams -Wales 3, France 3, Ireland 1, England 1.
Triple Crowns - Wales 3, Ireland 4, England 2.
Championships - France 5, Wales 4, Ireland 1, England 1.
Not all doom and gloom peeps"

Think they may have conveniently missed out the New Zealand stats??

Just to double check Robo ,as a Welshman myself-

is it Rygbi or Rybgi?

the latter sounds something like a welsh bungee jump

sad game on Saturday though but your stat lists do cheer me up on a very wet Monday morning.

quick welsh joke-
A Welshman on a train says to his companion in a very welsh accent " see those roofs over there? I laid all those tiles by hand. do they call me Dai the roof....no" a minute later he turns again and says " see those fields over there? I ploughed them there fields all by hand with one horse. do they call me Dai the plough?...no" ........one bloody sheep it was !!
