beer is bad for you

Post by IFGL »

I took my pulse rate this morning at rest it is in the low to mid 50's which is normal for me, I decided to try it after 6 beers, some crisps and chocolate, still at rest, my heart rate went up to high 60's
69 being the highest.

So it's big news if you have heart trouble, stay off beer, crisps and chocolate!

This has been a public service announcement by IFGL.

Average adult resting heart rate is 60-100 BPM so get the beers in.

For us men beer not only gives you libido problems but also gives you Moobs as well, which can be irreversible. Its the hops which contain chemicals which are similar to estrogen. Not a problem if you drink carlsberg or Johns Smiths as they are only shown a hop in the late stage of production, but bad news if you like full on really hoppy pale ales. :giggle: :giggle:

I have in the past had attacks of kidney stones. Not often thankfully. The last time was at the weekend so no getting the doc out for a shot of morphine. Straight into casualty.
The doc on duty asked if I drank a lot of beer. I replied not a great deal but I wasn't against the odd pint or two. He advised me to increase my input. Which I thought was quite unusual from a doctor. He was Australian though.

  :P :ninja:

Good news!

It was the chocolate not the beer that raised the old heart rate, a bit more experimentation with beer is required though.

Beer and chocolate are never a good combination unless you are drinking a stout then it is acceptable. Scratchings and beer are probably the best combo but again the scratchings may affect your heart rate :giggle: .

:Slap: :Slap:

Guinless is not ok   a pale shadow of its former self brewed by accountants for the masses.

Fullers Black Cab in bottles isn't a bad stout,so to is Sheperds neame double stout even though they are both a southern jessies drink and of course Sam Smiths oatmeal stout is excellent.

Just stay away from the Guinnless is no better than John S*ite or CarlsCr*p. :giggle: :giggle:

Many years back I had occasion to visit the doc because of acid tummy problems and after a swift investigation into the number of bottles of the local brew I consumed on a daily basis (this was in central Africa and was an important daily ritual) I was told to stop drinking anything gassy. I asked if scotch and water would be ok and was promptly ejected from the surgery.
However I've drank it ever since and can recommend it's magic medicinal properties.
Less fattening than beer too ! :D
