Namedroppers Anomymous

Post by prospero »

I found this snap just now among my collection. Thought I'd lost it..... Not a very good photo. (My cousin took it. :? ) I'm very proud of it nonetheless.
Anyhow, the frame in the picture was made and handfinished by me. The mount has washlines (you can't see them very well) by me. Oh, and I also did the painting in the frame. :)

Not the best painting in the world, but who is the guy holding it?

No it's not me. :P

The Guy in question is very famous. Iconic in fact. A Legend.
There can't be many people on the planet who would not recognise his name.

He's a bit like Walt Disney. Everybodys hear of him but no one would recognise him in the street.

I could be very wrong, but he looks like he should be a surfer boy.

Looks a bit like an elderly Evel Knievel - can't even begin to imagine the connection though!

That's not fair - you should have photoshopped a helmet on him. I've never seen him naked!

Hi Prospero
I got him straight away, who could not know who it was, why has the great man been given a painting by yourself, what's the connection?

I had to check the photo again wondering why Prospero would have a picture of him naked!

:D Definately a 'didn't recognise you with your clothes on' scenario.

About ten years ago my cousin co-produced a doco on the man. She found out he was a bit of an art collector so she persuaded the BBC to cough up for a painting as a little gift. Had to do a massive discount, but it was worth it just to get the photo.
I never met the man, but she got to stay at his ranch in Montana. (jammy cow. :P ) That's where the photo was taken.

I thought it was Peter Stringfellow but without the mullet.
I once saw Becky Jago totally naked… I will give more details if pushed.

OK so this is the story of how I got to see Becky Jago completely and utterly NAKED.

Becky’s family used to live in the same village as me.
It happened when I was about 4 years old and Becky was a very young baby. Her Mother brought her along to the Play Group that I attended to show me and the other 4 year olds how a baby is bathed. So yes I did see her Totally Naked!

A friend of mine attended Corona stage school in Hammersmith and became friends with Zach Starkey, Ringo Starr's son. During the summer hols, I was duly invited over to his house in Strawberry Hill, Twickenham to meet him. We descended in to his cellar where he had a full adult drum kit assembled and he then spent the next couple of hours trying to destroy our eardrums. We were only about 14 at the time but he was already an amazing drummer.

Didn't get a photo, though! Happy days.
