Some Photos
Just a couple of shots of the Grand Canyon before my jet lagged body hits the sack.
See the bank of the Colarado river all the way down there? Well, that is 30 ft high! I could hardly bear to watch this young lady - there was 3000ft of fresh air below her, she's just about to sit dowm; not get up, she just 'jumped' on to her butt - crazy!
All for now.

Re: Some Photos
That first photograph is absolutely stunning, John!
I took a very dear friend of mine to see the cliffs a couple of years ago. I was about 10' from the edge of one of the sheer cliffs and looked round to find him ashen-faced just watching me. (6th August, 2002 was a very sad day: I came back to find my little Tara dead from urinary tract infection - she was only six... )
Perhaps one of the greatest joys (and curses) of youth is the inability to project the potential consequences of our actions... ;?
Cliffs of Moher moment. Parts of them are incredibly sheer (although not in the league of the Grand Canyon - they only reach about 700'). I'm not acrophobic, but I do suffer a little from vertigo. One of the best photos I ever took was of a pyramidal stack just off the cliffs. I had to lie belly down on the ground with my erstwhile "Grand Passion" gripping firmly onto the waistband of my jeans in order to get the shot. (Good result. The cliff in question sloped somewhat and the shot looked like it had been taken from a helicopter. )Roboframer wrote:I could hardly bear to watch this young lady - there was 3000ft of fresh air below her, she's just about to sit dowm; not get up, she just 'jumped' on to her butt - crazy!

It was a great day for photos - good sky!
The shadows of the clouds gave a film show across the cliff faces. Here's Miss Deathwish again - I'm assuming she had a foothold!

Well, I can do the jeep!
It's actually a Dodge 1 ton Chassis - Jeep custom built the rest - there are 12 in the world; this is No3!
Elvis was stood in front of it, I swear, but somehow he hasn't come out!
BTW - I'd recommend this pink jeep tour to anyone - the drivers/guides are great if ours (Harry) was anything to go by. Everything you could see from Vegas to the Canyon, he talked about - economy, geology, biology, history. I tipped him $50 and felt mean!

Re: Some Photos
Just been having a scoot around the WCAF seminar schedule. It's a pity that they don't make DVDs of the seminars available to buy: the training resources available at the show are fantastic!
Tell me, tell me.... Just how much more choice do American framers have mouldings-wise???

Re: Some Photos
Well, there were 2 halls, each about the size of our 1 hall at the NEC.
There were LOTS of moulding suppliers - not one took the amount of space that D&J Simons takes at ours, or Arqadia, Not even Larson Juhl, who OWN Arqadia!
But the thing is, at our show, after Simons and Arqadia, you're struggling ...... Ashworth & Thompson ..... Mainline .... Wessex ................ REALLY struggling now.
But I could not sell half of what I saw - closed corner - veneers - acrylic boxes. I got in to conversations with reps and they always ended with 'Thanks - don't mind if I just drool then?"
