the guillotine that jammed

Post by emeraldart »

Once upon a time many many years ago, three framers were brought before the king charged with malpractice. According to the rules of the country such crimes were penalised with death at the guillotine.
George the English framer was first to be executed. He was given the choice of facing up or lying face down.. He said "ill lie face down in shame, Ill see nothing ,feel nothing and hear nothing". with that the executioner pulled the lever on the guillotine and the blade dropped but jammed half way down. Under ancient law when such happens the criminal is allowed to walk free and George was allowed his freedom,

Andy the Scottish framer was next to be executed. He too was given the choice of facing up or lying face down. he also chose to lie face down in shame. With that the executioner pulled the lever and the blade dropped but again jammed half way down, .Under the same rules Andy also walked free.

Paddy the Irish framer was next up to the guillotine. Given the choice of facing up or down Paddy said " Ill face up without shame and meet my maker, I have no fear. And so again the executioner went to pull the lever. As he was about to pull the lever Paddy shouted ..."Whoa...STOP.... I think i see whats making it jam>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Once upon a time there was a famous black knight on a black horse who desired the hand of a fair princess. So, he rode to the castle where the princess lived to seek permission from her father, the king.

"Who goes there?" demanded the castle gatekeeper.

"It is the black knight on the black horse," replied the knight. "I wish to see the king."

"Not the black knight on the black horse?" replied the gatekeeper.

"Yes, the black knight on the black horse", said black knight on the black horse.

"Very well. You may come through." The knight entered the royal chamber.

"Who is it?" boomed the king.

"It is the black knight on the black horse. I have come to ask for the hand of your daughter, the Princess Fredrika."

"Not the black knight on the black horse?" said the king.

"Yes, the black knight on the black horse", replied the black knight on the black horse.

"Well," said the king, "before you can marry my daughter, you must obtain a golden wreltney from the golden dragon."

"I shall do that," replied the knight, and he rode off to find the golden dragon.

The golden dragon was in its lair. "Who goes there?", it called at the sound of approaching hoofs.

"It is the black knight on the black horse. I have come to claim the golden wreltney with which I may marry the king's daughter, the Princess Fredrika."

"Not the black knight on the black horse?" said the golden dragon.

"Yes, the black knight on the black horse", said the black knight on the black horse.

After a ferocious battle lasting several hours after which the giant fire breathing lizard was severely throttled about the head and shoulders, the golden dragon reluctantly handed over the golden wreltney to the black knight on the black horse wherein the knight rode back to the castle.

"Who goes there?" demanded the gatekeeper.

"It is the black knight on the black horse."

"Not the black knight on the black horse?"

"Yes, the black knight on the black horse. I am here to see the king."

"Very well. Come through." The the black knight on the black horse entered the royal chamber.

"Who is it?" boomed the king.

"It is the black knight on the black horse," the black knight on the black horse answered.

"Not the black knight on the black horse?"

"Yes, the black knight on the black horse. I have obtained the golden wreltney from the golden dragon. Now, may I ask for the hand of your daughter, the Princess Fredrika?"

"Before you can marry my daughter," replied the king, "you must also obtain the emerald wreltney from the green dragon."

"Very well," said the black knight on the black horse and he rode off in search of the green dragon.

The green dragon was in its lair. "Who goes there?" it said, hearing the sound of approaching hoofs.

"It is the black knight on the black horse. I have come to claim the emerald wreltney with which I may marry the king's daughter, the Princess Fredrika."

"Not the black knight on the black horse?"

"Yes, the black knight on the black horse", answered the black knight on the black horse.

Having heard about the previous encounter with the golden dragon, the green dragon made a few half hearted faints and parries after which he reluctantly handed over the emerald wreltney to the black knight on the black horse who then rode back to the castle.

"Who goes there?" demanded the gatekeeper.

"It is the black knight on the black horse. I am here to see the king."

"Not the black knight on the black horse?"

"Yes, the black knight on the black horse", he replied.

"Very well. Come through." The knight entered the royal chamber.

"Who is it?" boomed the king.

"It is the black knight on the black horse."

"Not the black knight on the black horse?"

"Yes, the black knight on the black horse. I have obtained the golden wreltney from the golden dragon and the emerald wreltney from the green dragon and now I have come to ask for the hand of your daughter, the Princess Fredrika."

"Before you can marry my daughter," replied the king, "you must also obtain the ruby wreltney from the red dragon."

"Then I shall do so," said the knight and he rode off in search of the red dragon. The dragon was in its lair.

"Who goes there?" called the dragon, hearing the sound of approaching hoofs.

"It is the black knight on the black horse", cried the black knight on the black horse.

"Not the black knight on the black horse?"

"Yes, the black knight on the black horse. I have come to claim the ruby wreltney so that I may marry the king's daughter, the Princess Fredrika."

The red dragon, having heard about the previous encounters with the golden dragon and the green dragon, simply sighed small puff of smoke and turned over the ruby wreltney to the black knight on the black horse who then galloped back to the castle.

"Who goes there?" demanded the gatekeeper.

"It is the black knight on the black horse", answered the black knight on the black horse.

"Not the black knight on the black horse?"

"Yes, the black knight on the black horse. I am here to see the king."

"Very well. Come through." The knight entered the royal chamber.

"Who is it?" boomed the king.

"It is the black knight on the black horse", said the black knight on the black horse.

"Not the black knight on the black horse?"

"Yes, the black knight on the black horse. I have obtained the gold wreltney from golden dragon, the emerald wreltney from the green dragon, and the ruby wreltney from the red dragon and now I wish to ask for the hand of your daughter, the Princess Fredrika."

"Very well," said the king, "you have obtained all three wreltneys. You may ask for the hand of my daughter, the Princess Fredrika." The knight was escorted to the chamber of the princess.

"Who is it?" asked the princess.

"It is the black knight on the black horse", exclaimed the black knight on the black horse proudly.

"Not the black knight on the black horse?"

"Yes, the black knight on the black horse. After obtaining the gold wreltney from golden dragon, the emerald wreltney from the green dragon, and the ruby wreltney from the red dragon, your father, the king, has given me permission to ask for your hand in marriage. So, fair princess, will you marry me?"

"Oh, yuck … no way!!!"
