Yes Mikey - I've been watching off and on for the last couple of days

This link has some tremendous photos celebrating the career of the Shuttle

Cheers

just looked up iss passes next 10 days - no sighting for us in uk !! but i bet some lucky chap/chapess will capture a photo of the shuttle and the iss together ! doesn't need that powerful a scope but good timing and location essential.

I've seen the ISS pass several times - you can always tell when the shuttle's attached! It outshines everything without the shuttle, with it, it is like a supernova! Pity it won't be passing this time, I'd like to say goodbye to the end of an era.

I remember the shuttle flying over the UK attached to its 747 back in the early 80's. I was at school in Manchester and remember it vividly, I believe it was flying to the Paris airshow.

Ah I didn't know it actually landed here, but just reading up about the Jumbo that carried it, it only had a maximum range of 1000 nautical miles so it stands to reason it would have to stop and refuel. The UK was one of its emergency landing sites I suppose it would be like the advert if that landed at Heathrow.
