Sitting on a fortune?

Post by Roboframer »

I read in the paper today about a guy that lost his guitar pick down a crevice in his sofa. While trying to fish it out he found some change and decided to look for more and ended up finding eighty-five quid!

According to a survey, the average Brit has £1.61 down the back of the sofa, which adds up to £42 million across the Nation.

No wonder DFS etc offer to take away your old sofa!

My old shop used to be a bank sub-branch. When I moved in I arranged it with the agent that I would dismantle the old counter ready for him to get a guy to haul it away. It had been a bank for quite a few years, so it crossed my mind that there must be lots of coins that had rolled underneath and never been retrieved. So I spent a day knocking the thing to bits......

Found a 20p. :|

Friend of mine was a salesman at a big car dealership. Whenever they took in a part exchange he took the rear seat squabs up (pre folding seats and hatchbacks) and never had to find change for the coffee machine.

Someone I worked with once arrived at work and looked out of the window and saw a £20 note on the ground which he went and picked up. Every morning after that the first thing he would do when he arrived was go and look out of the same window.

Guess I might regret this next story !

Just after the Euro was introduced at an exhibition in Frankfurt we decided to glue a new 2 Euro coin near the bottom of a long escalator. Just in front of where our stand was.

No sooner had we stuck it down that a very elegant lady spotted it from the top of the escalator and had her eyes fixed on it all the way down.

She picked it up with glee - only to discover that the glue hadn't yet dried :o
She managed to free the coin, but in the process her fingers got stuck together permamently :x

Later she returned with the Hall Manager and pointed to the spot where it had been.

We decided to keep a very low profile

Im pretty sure she doesn't read this Forum

A customer of mine (who I have known since I was little boy) spotted a 1p coin on the pavement outside the shop one day. He picked it up with glee and remarked "I'm always finding money", with a sly grin.

The guy is a multi-millionaire.

There is a moral to that story. Wish I knew what it was....
