A frame for me

Post by mikeysaling »

This was something i have long wanted to do - I already had dads medals in a frame but wanted to include some other items

This is the new home for my fathers medals & memorabilia

From the top.

No 2 Commando shoulder patch ; Combined operations patch ; pics of dad and mum.
Middle Fairbairn Sykes 3rd pattern fighting knife (commando dagger) Medals from left British Empire Medal; 39/45 War Medal; Italy Star; Defence Medal; War medal; Police Long Service Medal. Pips either side of plaque as dad left the Commando as an officer. I am waiting for an OR commando cap badge and FS 1st pattern fighting knife with custom etching .

Nice job Mikey!

Why didn't you put it in 'The good, the bad & the ugly" and where are you going to put the badge & knife you're waiting for?

The knife replaces the existing one - its a 1st pattern FS knife and is being etched with dads details . cap badge will go to the left of the medals - these cap badges are very slim (see pic) and I'm trying to locate a sweetheart brooch like my mother is wearing in the pic; for right hand of medals. Put it in after hours as it was 'after hours' for me .
