Welcome to the new forum, it has many new features that should help make The Framer's Forum an even more interesting place.

Post here any questions regarding the forum and its use.

I'll leave it to members to discover all the new stuff.

Enjoy!

I like it!

Found a cool couple of features already - like click who is online and it tells you what everyone is up to.

Thanks John!

The Mogster is now also working on a method of dropping her evil concoctions on a certain frameshop in Walesland. :P

John, with the member info now being over the right side (It may be just me but at the moment I find it a little odd - I'll get used to it though!) and with there being a reasonable amount of room there, would you be looking to relax the avatar sizes? I reckon 120-150 pixel width (height could be up to 200) would be perfectly reasonable.

Hah! It tells you if someone has posted between you hitting reply and submit, giving you a chance to change your message in light of the new post - cool!

Not alone on that one, Steve. :(

Yes a little strange with the avatars on the right hand side. Still as you say we will get used to it.

Wrt enlarging them, could we not be leading ourselves into a situation where the avatar then becomes bigger than the text input. - that is if a member inputs just one line. which would also lead into less text on the page.

Happy with the size they are. IMHO

John, I notice that when you click on a web link in the new forum, it doesn't open up a new browser window (IE7 here, btw). Is there any chance of re-enabling pop-up Windows for web links?

John, it looks fine.

Is automatic image-resizing also installed?

Ditto for pictures with "Click to view larger image" option.

I know that the "new window" feature in the old forum is a small thing, but it was incredibly useful. I've always found on The G that the "view image then click the back button" is a PITA.

Note that you no longer have to add second, third, fourth quotes manually

When it comes to avatars, less is more.
I'm with Merlin on this.

The new software is going for XHTML Strict compliance so links in a post will open in the same window. However I was fond of the new window link myself, so might be tempted to lift the hood at some stage and make a few tweaks. However, I am beginning to get into the habit of opening links in a new tab (Wheel click in IE7) so this might not be an issue for me after a while.

If I have configured it right, and if I understand it right, (bit of a long shot then) click to view larger image should now be a thing of the past.

Me Miss, me Miss, I know ....

When you reply with a quote by clicking the red quote box - scroll down below the reply box that comes up and you can see previous posts, as you always could, but now the quote box is active in them.

Don't know if it only applies to the last page of a topic though.

Don't know for sure, but I think so. Perhaps it just prevents posting of the wrong sized image.

I was hoping that you would test this for me. :)

The answer is no - I always had to resize my photos to 800x600 or so before - just tried it without doing that and it wouldn't have it.

So I'll now have a go resized prior - wait out!
