is it possible to automatically have any links posted by users made to open in a new window?

just a small point, but sometimes you can close the window on the link only to realise you have left the forum.

In order to to achieve XHTML 1.0 Strict-validation, the forum software does not force external links to open a new window.

However, holding the Ctrl key on the keyboard when clicking a link will do the job.
