Foxing

Guten morgen, I've been looking at conservation methods for books as I have a 1918 Heinemann 1st edition of Swinburne's poetry for children illustrated by Rackham, "The Springtide of Life", which has a little foxing on end papers and I was wondering if anyone had any DIY  experience with removing/hindering the growth of said annoying spots.

First spend two years doing this: http://www.arts.ac.uk/camberwell/course ... servation/

Then after a few more years' experimenting, you will know as much as this guy.

http://periodfinebindings.typepad.com/r ... and_milde/

(And ignore people who tell you that you can use Milton Fluid, or Chloramine T or any other wonder material that will, in time, destroy the paper as well as the foxing.)

Funny, I actually looked at the Camberwell course a while ago.
I found a website for a recent Camberwell graduate so I may ask for a quote-or not :D

OK, thanks, I didn't know that. I have a couple of friends that teach there so might be worth a look.

It's not your problem, why make it your problem? What happens when the spots come back, possibly many years later? You will be blamed.
