pricing frames with mount fillets

Post by stcstc » Fri 04 Oct, 2013 1:20 pm

i am trying to price some frames with mount fillets

i understand doing multiple mouldings by putting in 2 codes into the mouldings box

if i do that though its going to price the mount fillet at the same size

is there a way to do seperate dimensions

Unfortunately the definition of fillet is not universally accepted in the framing world.

If you mean a flat profile that adds nothing to the overall frame size, then just give it a nominal width, say 0.1 cms in your table of stocked mouldings.

On the other hand, if it has a rebate like an outer moulding then use its actual width and EstLite will correctly calculate the sizes based on the widths of each layer in the stack.

I would price that as a Mount Decoration item.

Yes, in theory, l suppose.

However, when pricing mount fillets, the cost of materials is swamped by the cost of the time and effort involved in doing it.

At Scenes we simplify things by grouping similarly priced fillets.

The truth is, we are happy with using a single group, but you may prefer to use more if you find that the price spread in the range of fillets that you offer is significant enough to warrant it.
