bitmap invalid error? Estlite Plus

Post by kev@frames »

getting a bitmap error whenever i try to preview or print (etc) from my evaluation estlite. have I missed something in the setup? Im seriously thinking of upgrading from BBest to the full Estlite and was hoping to try it "live" in the shop during the evaluation period.

Often the logo problem is caused by Windows.

The logo must have the BMP format and be called logo.bmp and, in any Windows version before Vista, must reside in C:\Program Files\Est.

By default, Windows Explorer hides extensions of known file types, so displays the file 'logo.bmp' as simply 'logo'. This madness can be turned off in Windows Explorer by unchecking Folder Options/View/Hide Extensions For Known File Types. When you have done this, you'll be able to see if the logo file is named correctly and is in the desired location.

Give me a ring any time Kev, I'll talk you through it. We could even do a help-desk computer linkup if your computer has a broadband connection.

Sorry Kev,

Please disregard my response to your query.

It turns out that there was a bug in the version of the program that you downloaded. This has now been fixed, so if you update the program you should find that the bitmap error is now gone.

Cheers John!
Im setting it up in the shop counter computer so that the new part time staff member can get used to it alongside BBest.

Im sure i had a version years ago where I could simply print out a day's job sheet for the workshop - eg "all jobs to be ready for xyz date". Can't quite see how to do that with the latest version...

At the moment we have a half-hearted system where we are supposed print 3 copies on A5, one for the customer, one as a "job ticket" that follows the job through the workshop and back to the shop, and one as a paper record.

I'll download a fresh one, cheers.
