Migrating Est-lite over to a "Server"

Post by Grahame Case »

hi John, i'm wondering how to transfer over Estlite to another computer to act as the host.

we are putting our old (refurbished) AMD thunderbird 1gig box with new hard drive and XP OS through the workshop and want to transfer all the data over to it.

is it a case of just copying the program files folder over on a pen drive or does it need a clean install?

No need to re-install Grahame, unless you are migrating to Vista.

Just pop the Est folder (in Program Files) on to your pen drive and transfer it to your new machine.

Should be a seamless operation, then it's just a matter of adding EstLite to your Startup menu and/or creating a shortcut or two.

If you encounter any problems give us a shout.

migration "sorted"

need a longer cat 5 cable, and a new monitor, but apart from that we are all okay,

i also need a new printer, this one doesn't like printer sharing at a5 size!
