'Destination is nil' after taking photo with pre-view

Post by Spit »

Hi John,

I'm having this problem when taking a photo, and then it comes up with

PR_RC_Termviewfinder errorcall 0x00200061, invalid function call

After that I can't close the camera dialogue, it comes up with 'not in viewfinder mode'

I've had the problem before and could get rid of it with a reboot of the computer/camera, but it's not doing it this morning.

I have Pre-view 3.07 and a canon a640.

It's OK, I sorted it! Deleting 'C:\Program Files\Pre-View\balance.vis' cured it - the file was locked somehow.

Download the latest ( V3.08 )

It should take care of this problem.

Sometimes I skip the odd announcement if no new function has been added, or the update is minor or cosmetic.

3.08 has a very slight speed improvement, with a bit of internal jiggery-pokery designed to ease future development, but with the added bonus that it fixed a problem that I thought was just potential, up until Steve reported it.

Anyway, I thought you were on holiday, living it large in some sub-tropical paradise! :)

That would explain it then!

It certainly is a paradise here! A paradise for picture framers! So many galleries. So many lovely pictures and lovely artists who are more than happy to spend a few minutes talking business. All the frames down here tend to be limed tulip wood and oak . My real holiday is spring fair! This is a week away :)

Go to the normal download page http://pre-view.biz/download and it will download the latest version - like John said above he just didn't announce this version!

John, [scenes] why doesn't preview have an auto update feature? A.la estlite? It'd be rather handy!

If you want the honest answer, it is pure laziness Grahame. This way it is a lot easier for me as I don't have all the background stuff to do in order to make the AutoUpdate thing work. 8)

But I'll get round to it eventually, I'm sure. :)
