Glass Pricing

Hi John,
I'm just updating my glass pricing.
To make it a simple example to work with, I have set the glass price at £1 and the Min at £3.50.
If I add 20% wastage to £1 it comes to £1.20 plus Min £3.50 comes to £4.50.
Estlite is coming out at £4.90.
Is there a simple reason for this that I am missing?
I am not charging vat.
Additionally, if I use the VAT additive button, will it show as vat charged on the invoice?
Thanks

Hi Justin,
The waste factor in EstLite is applied to the dimensions of the various frame elements in order to calculate more realistic values of the material quantities required to complete a job

Cutting each dimension incurs wastage

So the waste factor is applied once for a single dimensional element such as the moulding, and twice for two dimensional elements such as glass and mountboard. (See diagram below)

In your example the calculation is:
3.50 + ( (16 x 1.20 x 20 x 1.20) ÷ (16 x 20))
Which equals 4.94
(or 4.90 rounded to one decimal place)

Yes, applying the VAT additive setting in Options will add the VAT amount and display it on screen and printed dockets.

Thanks John, sorry you had to answer that twice!
